Hello families, We want to tell you how much fun we had on the excursion to Natura Parc on April 9th. It was a great day and we were able to discover many new animals that we had never seen before! At Natura Parc we learned a lot about animals and how we can take care of our planet. We saw very interesting animals up close and participated in a workshop where they told us a lot about them. In the subject of Environmental Knowledge we have studied the different types of physical relief that exist: volcanoes, rivers, mountains, bays... To reflect many of these elements we have created a model, in work teams, of a natural environment. First, we had to research the characteristics of the chosen environment and decide how we would represent it. Then, we had to create a list of the materials we would need. The 5th and 6th grade students had the opportunity to visit the Tirme facilities. There we were able to see how waste items are sorted, how some of them are composted, and how they are given a second life... We were able to play with games and items made from recycled materials and ride a train through the facilities. We were able to see first-hand what the work and process of recycling is like, how we can reduce the consumption of waste items, etc. It has been a trip full of learning!

The children's groups carried out an activity in the intercycle workshops to create artificial snow using baking soda and water. The children were very excited to see how the mixture began to react. To begin, we explained what we needed and how when we added water, a reaction occurs that results in a substance with a texture similar to snow. The little ones helped us mix it, observing how the substance became more fluffy and white, perfectly imitating the snow that covers the ground in winter.
