Col·legi Manjón Education Palma Balears, Illes
Today, taking advantage of the theme of light worms in third grade of primary education, we did a workshop on luminescence techniques. These techniques are used in research, especially in the fight against cancer.

During the workshop we learned how to make an ultraviolet light lamp so we could write messages that glow in the dark. To do it is very easy; we need a flashlight, duct tape and markers in navy blue and lilac.
To make the ink we used the juice of half a lemon mixed with a few drops of water.

In addition, the resulting mixture had another property and is that coming into contact with the heat of a candle becomes charcoal that is a black color on the paper and therefore we have been able to leave our secret messages permanent.

Third graders have learned many new things about luminescence, phosphorescence and luminescence through this workshop.

We will continue to learn many more things with the help of our light worm friends.
