This week we continued with our ants project. Last week we worked on its classification, the children saw that a group of ants is called a colony and inside the colony is the queen ant, the male, the worker and the soldier. Each of them has a function within the colony and is very well organized.

This week we worked on the types of ants and have seen that there are many ants with different characteristics and each one has a name. The children really enjoyed learning about such a variety of ants, their names, characteristics ... For example: we discovered that the pruning ant can build an underground anthill 3 meters deep. We took a meter and measured our class. We realized that this ant could build an anthill as deep as our class, because from the ceiling to the ground there are 3 meters.
From this session came out very interesting conversations that we will work on in the coming weeks.

After this activity, we carry out an observation activity. The children were provided with a picture of an anthill with hidden ants, they had to be patient, concentrate and find the ants. Once found, they had to paint them.
